Urgent Appeal Aid for Afghanistan Earthquake
The devastation in Afghanistan following the magnitude 6.1 earthquake is absolutely heartbreaking, killing at least 1000 people and injuring 1500 people.
Unfortunately there are many people stranded under the rubble of houses and there are no resources. People are physically digging with their hands.
Some of the worst-affected areas are in rough mountainous terrain more than 200 kilometres from more well-equipped healthcare facilities in the capital Kabul. Rescue and relief operations have been hampered by untimely rain, rough terrain and poor communications.
It is estimated that the death toll could now have reached more than 2,500 people. There is a desperate need for more help!
The Australian Afghan Hassanian Youth Association need your help to quickly provide essential food aid, supplies and emergency shelter for people who have lost their homes.
AAHYA are well connected on the ground and are working with partners and community members to respond urgently to this crisis.
