Upper Lonsdale Preschool (“ULP”) is located in the heart of the Upper Lonsdale community and has been providing preschoolers with a play based, creative and research based curriculum for over 65 years. We are a non-profit, independent organization that is funded solely by our North Shore families,
In planning a safe return to preschool in September, we are reaching out to the community for donations to help us complete Phase II of a 3 phase Play Yard Expansion project begun in 2019. Last summer, ULP completed Phase I expanding our outdoor space to approximately 1300 square feet with monies raised from this and other fundraising initiatives! With that in mind, we are now aiming to raise approximately 20 thousand dollars to complete Phase II!
In order to meet the evolving needs of today’s families, to keep current with daily outdoor curriculum, and meet best practices and directives from Vancouver Coastal Health and BC Center For Disease Control in regard to Covid19, we are excited to continue fundraising so we can begin Phase II this summer!
ULP must address some important issues this summer while families are on break. In particular, Phase II provides options for meeting directives to increase learning outside. To most effectively add to our outdoor curriculum, we would like to build a covered area in our play yard for September. Phase II envisions a pagoda-style covered area, a wood sandbox and a required small covered outdoor hand sanitizing and sign-in station at our east gate.
