Update on Ron's condition

The picture you see was taken when Ron Bernstein was a healthy man. Today he is a rail of a man, 25 pounds lighter due to his illness. Ron is in need of major surgery. It started seven months ago with a chronic cough. Then he lost his voice, fought with bouts of exhaustion and an inability to eat. After several trips to doctors a rare tumor was discovered in his neck called Glomus Jugulare. The tumor is pressing on his carotid artery which gives him headaches 24/7, causes him to rarely sleep and disrupts his digestive system (it's why he can hardly eat). The tumor is also pressing on his windpipe which makes breathing difficult.
Ron was sent to the one of the most prestigious cancer surgery institutes in the country and was told, because of the nature of the tumor and the location, that they could not operate. It is too risky. Basically, they sent him home to die a slow painful death. Since then, Ron found one, yes, just ONE doctor in the entire country who is willing operate on the tumor, which could save Ron’s life.
Bottom line. Ron has been unable to work for months. He's out of money and completely broke. The only thing that can save him is the operation. Fortunately, Ron has health insurance, the problem is he has no money to live or to buy food and pay his mortgage. He's tapped dry. Even if he has the operation he doesn’t have the wherewithal to support himself afterward. He has no family and his friends have given him as much as they can give.
Ron needs funds to eat and live until he's fully recovered, which by the doctor's estimate, could take months. Not only does he need money to eat, he faces possible foreclosure on his modest condo.
The irony is that Ron has helped hundreds if not thousands of people in his life and has even saved lives. He helped formulate a nutritional product that helps diabetics and obese people lose weight and regain their health. However, due to his illness, and business circumstances, he presently gets no income from that endeavor.
I am a friend of Ron's who is trying to save his life. For all the good Ron has done, I’m hoping there is enough justice in this world for him to now receive the help he desperately needs . Thank you.
