Jude's Medical Fund

On Wednesday, June 7, Annie went to the doctor and found our baby had a very high heart rate and wasn't moving (which she noticed on the way to the doctor). The pregnancy up to that point was very normal with no complications. The doctors quickly decided an emergency c-section was necessary. Jude was born that evening, not moving except for shaking hands which was found to be seizures. After stabilizing him, they transported Jude to Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children for immediate treatment and testing. For the last week they have performed numerous tests and found Jude suffered a severe brain injury. Currently the doctors theorize that his umbilical cord somehow got kinked, depreviving him of oxygen for an extended period of time. They don't know the cause for sure, but MRI's, brain ultrasounds, and other brain scans all confirm severe damaged to the central core of his brain. With what is known now, the doctors do not anticipate Jude to walk, talk, or even eat on his own. We are hoping and praying for healing but we understand that is not always the plan. At this point, the doctors do not know how long we will be in the NICU. They say best case is a month, but major improvements will be required before that timeframe is possible.
