Unsalvageable? Help Jen Save Her Leg!

Donation protected
In March  2018 Jen slipped on some ice while walking to a chute at Kirkwood. She fell 20 feet off a cliff landing on her right leg. He leg was shattered, she landed on rocks and ice, lacerating her face and losing teeth. She was taken to the clinic by ski patrol and sent to the ER for her first surgery. She was told this was a "life changing" injury, though she never understood how deep that statement went.

After her second surgery she developed an infection. Over time there was so much damage she had to fuse the ankle.  She has now had 11 surgeries and is being forced to consider amputation due to chronic pain and extreme limitations in life, especially in walking.

Jen has a huge heart and does whatever she can to make the world a better place. She works as a social worker with our most vulnerable population. She volunteers countless hours each week for local non-profits.  She even adopts black cats because they are the least likely to be adopted.

Jen couldn't work during the year of her 11 surgeries and racked up over 20K in medical bills that are still being paid off. (A very small portion of the total cost of her "million dollar leg".)

Jen's surgeon referred her to the prosthetist to talk about amputation or other options.  Enter ExoSym’s Leg Brace. This is a device she could use and avoid amputation, walk pain free again and live the ambitious and productive life she’s well known for. She will be able to raise her girls with that fierce fighting spirit and live their best life possible.

Total cost of the fitting and rehab will run in excess of $10,000. Your donation would enable her to get the ExoSym brace, and retraining to walk with the brace from the clinic staff.  Her fitting appointment is March 2nd.

Jen's leg looks ugly to some, with the transplanted muscle, skin and severe scaring. Jen calls it beautiful because it saved her life and allows her to raise her amazing children.  Please help her keep her leg and donate anything you can.
