Un milagro para Lio y Maia

( English at the end)

Hello, thank you for reading the story of Lio & Maia, a couple of young warriors who despite many adversities are still fighting for a chance to survive. On May 21, 2018, after only 27 weeks of gestation and due to complications during pregnancy, they were born in the city of Monterrey, Mexico,at the Ginequito hospital. Weighing only 820 and 380 grams respectively upon delivery, we knew that Lio's and Maia's existence was already a miracle.
Maia's weight dropped to 350 grams in the first days of her life .Her hyperactive movements were causing her to burn many calories and could hardly gain any weight back. Maia also had multiple problems in her lungs, and an interventricular hemorrhage.
Lio, on the other hand, continued to gain weight, but unfortunately started experiencing issues with his heart.
Late July, 2 months after their birth, doctors allowed Cynthia (Lio's and Maia's mom) to use the kangaroo technique, and was finally able to hold Lio and Mai in her arms.
Unfortunately, complications have continued for both of them such as: weight loss, artificial respirators, lung secretions, transfusions, heart surgeries, cardiorespiratory arrest, bronchoaspiration and pneumonia. These are just some of the battles they have been faced with in their short two months of life.
At this time Lio is in critical condition, as he presents superior vena cava thrombosis and jugular vein thrombosis. Unfortunately catheterization was unsuccessful. Doctors have not found a way to help him, in doctors' own words, this case is an enigma to them.
In addition to all this, their insurance coverage has reached its limit, and the high doctors' and hospital bills continue to rise in Ginequito Hospital. Due to their critical conditions,  they cannot be transferred to another hospital.
This is why we dare to ask for your help, Maia and Lio need us! We thank you for being here reading Lio's and Maia's story. Thank you in advance for your generosity and please know that there is no small donation. Every little bit helps! We know that Lio, Maia and their parents, Cynthia Cano and José Ángel Jarero will thank you for your generosity infinitely for the rest of their lives. And please..  keep Maia and Lio in your thoughts and prayers.
God bless you.
