Unite & Fight with Bridgit
Three weeks ago I received the worst phone call of my life. My best
friend had told me she was diagnosed with an advance case of Lymphoblastic Lymphoma Leukemia. Bridgit has been my best friend for over 20 years. She is my sister
and my partner in navigating through life. She has been with me through
childhood, the dredge teenage years, through marriage, birth and death. We continue to
support each other every day. She is my
everything.
There was no time to adjust to the news. The type of cancer she has, is acute adult t-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma leukemia, is aggressive and spreads quickly. It is already in her lymph nodes. Waiting on treatment could be fatal so she will immediately begin chemo on March 5th. In the span of these 3 weeks, Bridgit learned she would endure a rigorous Chemo plan. The plan will consist of each week she will receive 4 days of inpatient chemo, meaning she will have to stay in the hospital over night. She then will receive 2 days off to recover and on the third day will receive out patient chemo. This will occur every week for 6 months! She will be living in a hospital for 4 days out of the week. She will most likely be extremely sick for the next six months due to the extreme amount of Chemo she will be receiving. She will then receive 24 months of maintenance chemo after the 6 months.
I have never experienced such an overwhelming need to love, support and fight for someone. This
is not normally the way I work, but this is an emergency and I need your help.
Bridgit is 34 years old, has a loving husband, two young daughters, Mina and
Kaia, and is fighting the battle of her life.
