United Parish Steeple Restoration Project

Donation protected
The United Parish Congregational Church of Harrison and N.Bridgton was built around 1871 as the Free Baptist Church.  It has an unusual design with two steeples! At some point, there had been a tall, slender steeple but it succumbed to decay and was removed / replaced with the shorter steeple there today.  In the early 1920's, the Free Baptist Church and the Harrison Congregational church merged to become the Calvary Community Church.  In the late 1970's, the church received several large bequests which were used to modernize the building, purchase an electronic carillon, renovate the vestry in the building basement, and add on to the west side for a kitchen, parlor and Sunday school room.  Today, we have joined congregations with the N. Bridgton Congregational Church and continue to nourish our Christian congregation and maintain this historic building.  Our regular congregation is small so, now that some major renovations are needed to the church roof and steeples, we reach out to our friends and families to help with this project.  It is our deepest hope that we can continue to maintain and beautify this historic building for the people of Harrison and the surrounding area with your help.  The project will begin this Fall, 2020.  Thank you for anything you can give!
