As I write this campaign message from NYC, I'm safe and cozy in my bed. Like most of us right now, I have water, food, a shower to bathe, and a house over my head. I have a job and a stable community. My children are safe and they are attending school tomorrow, like every other child in the city. As we know, all that can change in an instant.
In the early morning of Wednesday, September 20th, 2017, a catastrophic change unfolded in the lives of many Puerto Ricans. As many of us have seen, families, including my own, have lost so much and are currently living in fear. Fear of the unknown and the already known. The thing is this.... damage to the land is one of many concerns! Jobs and income are now at a standstill. Food and water are running low, and a lot of the farm that once was is now gone.
This GoFundMe page is for my family in Puerto Rico, assisting in the repair, restoration, and rebuilding of their lives. From the campo in Yabucoa to Quebradillas in the west.
