WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO MAKE FACE-SHIELDS for NHS and other key workers
This is our family’s story:
In Mid March I started having cold symptoms. 2 days before that my brother went home with runny nose and sore throat. I have only just started feeling slightly better from a bad case of pneumonia earlier in February. Separately we went from a simple cold in day one to splitting headaches, ache in our muscles (bad back pain for my brother) , lots of coughs and eventually taken to hospital in back of ambulance. My brother was taken on a Tuesday and I on Wednesday. I stayed in hospital for a week and my brother for 12 days, 6 days of which in ICU and intubated. We each saw many poorly people and sadly many deaths. But we also were given astounding support by everyone involved in caring for us to fight off Coronavirus. We saw first hand how important PPE was to ensure front lines safety who would then care for the likes of us who desperately needed them. Now home and only just slightly better (full recovery is a long way away specially for my bother who is heavily affected both physically and mentally, we want to give back and serve our fantastic NHS and everyone of it’s staff. To thank them for their hard work we are determined to do everything we can to ensure they are safe and protected, so plan to make and donate face-shields for NHS.
Our plan is to get a few 3D printer (minimum 5) and start printing face shield components and making the whole unit for donation to our local hospitals. Once there is no further need for this piece of PPE, we plan to donate our 3D printers to schools or relevant charities.
We are hoping to get started by next week, and have production ready and able to deliver between 300-1000 face shields per week, but we can't do that without your help.
How can YOU help us:
1- Your financial donations will enable us to get printers and raw materials.
2- If you already have 3D printer please do get in touch, we can use your help (specially if you’re local in Surrey or SW london)
3- If you’re a supplier you can Support us with raw materials: (3D filament such as PLA,PETG, TPU, TPE, TPC) And semi-rigid plastic sheets
Initially we intend to donate to the 2 hospitals that cared for myself and my brother (Epsom and St. George’s) and then to extend to other hospitals and Care Homes .
Please help us to help our wonderful NHS and it’s superheroes staying safe!
