Erick D Mejia's Funeral

Erick Dariel Varela Mejía was a heartfelt, bright individual navigating through life’s battles valiantly. He practically lived his whole life here in San Antonio, Texas where he stayed in closure with his loved ones. 

He was quite unique in his way of thinking, always in search of everlasting knowledge. His biggest desire was to be happy and share that with a family of his own one day. 

Like you may already know, he was found with a gun at South Park Mall struggling every second to put that gun down, to just listen, to surrender. Personally, that video killed me inside— I hated every part of it because I knew him very well. It was fear that opaqued, fear of ending up in jail or being deported. Moreover the approach of SAPD was not sympathetic— instead daunting and spine-chilling. 

We are seeking support from people like you that are learning more about who Erick was and this unjust tragedy. 

If you can take one thing to remember who Erick was and what he wanted for others is to get to know Jesus Christ. 

That’s what we cling on to, that he knew the truth, his last days he sought exactly that. 

Gods plans will always be greater and more beautiful than all our disappointments.
