Unicycling for HermNaz Parking Lot!
Tax deductible
PAVING THE WAY FOR A DIFFERENCE!
The date is rolling ever closer to Thursday, July 26th 2018 when I, Patrick Temple, will ride a unicycle 30 miles from Pendleton, Oregon to Hermiston in the scorching eastern Oregon heat to help raise funds for the much needed resurfacing of the Hermiston Church of the Nazarene's parking lot.
EVER HAVE ONE OF THOSE IDEAS...?
If you ever had an idea that grew bigger and more insistent over time, you will totally get this. Over the past year, the friends of HermNaz have given generously to complete much needed capital improvements and preventive maintenance which includes a new roof and resurfacing of our parking lot to avoid much costlier repair down the road. With $3,000 left to pay in full for parking lot repair, I found myself wishing I could just wave my magic wand...but I don't have one. That's when the idea struck...."Do a unicycle marathon!" Of course!
DARE TO BE RIDICULOUS!
The idea struck me as absurd at first. Then I began thinking about community individuals and families served by HermNaz events such as the annual Diaper Dash; a fun run which asks for diapers as "entry fee". As a result, moms and families in need are provided boxes of diapers throughout the following year. In ways small and large, HermNaz exists to serve community. At times, a little imagination is needed to serve the basic needs of the church and, in turn, those you love.
How Many People Can Fit On a Unicycle?
With only one wheel and one seat on a unicycle, I'm hoping to get as many people as possible to ride along with me to make our $3,000 goal. All donations will be solely dedicated to parking lot repair, so climb aboard!
Just as appreciated as your contribution is your kind consideration in spreading the word.

I will be posting FaceBook Live every half hour during the entire duration of the ride to provide relevant commentary on progress and observations along the way.
