Uni student scammed - Please help

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Yae Chan Yang. I am a student from University of Cambridge and I currently live in London.

I am in an 8 month long-distance relationship with the love of my life who is in South Korea. (Apologies for the cheesiness of that statement)

Due to studies and financial issues, I am unable to see her that frequently (within the 8 month, I visited her twice) since I had to pay for my travels. We keep in contact through Facebook calls.

In July and August 2018, I have worked really hard for many hours and earned money so that I can go to Korea this December to see her.

However, on 1st September 2018, I saw a job advertisement and the pay was good so I applied for it so that I can pay for my living cost at university. But it turns out to be a scam, and lost 625 pounds by a man supposedly named Lee Song. He sent me an email, that looked legitimate, showing that the company he supposedly worked for sent me money through a bank transfer so that i can pay for the materials needed for the job. He said that I needed to do this, so that I can start the work on Monday.
He sent me the contact of the supplier, and I paid him. But the material never came on that day. I sent them an email about it, and they said it'll come the next day. And it never did. That's when I realised I got scammed. And I've been a victim of it.
If you see this email: [email redacted]
Please do not reply to it(especially students of Cambridge university).

It was really awful and I did not know what to do. Usually, I would think logically, but my emotions led me first. I thought, 'Great, I need the money and I found a job, I can sort my future out and see my love.' So at the spur of the moment, I did not know I was being scammed. I was too into the idea of seeing her. The idea of my hard earned money disappearing into thin air within minutes was overwhelming to me. So now I am struggling to get back on my feet and my brain is still processing what has happened to me.

I really want and need to see my girlfriend and now all the money I saved to go and see her will need to be spent on my living cost. It is not ideal for me since I saved those money for her.

I still cannot get over the idea that I have been scammed a large sum of money that I worked really hard for and I have been hit hard by it. Esepcially as a student. I have learnt the hard way that you cannot trust everyone, which is quite sad honestly.

With all the students out there, please watch out because I really hope you do not become victims of scams because it is really horrible and it has a massive impact on your physical and mental health. Please, don't be like me, and allow your emotions to lead you first when you are dealing with money.

So I would be very thankful if you can share this to other people as well so that we can raise awareness of the scam. Also any donation made would be very much appreciated.

Thank you very much.
