Unfamiliar Skies

Howdy friends!

Last summer I assembled a dream band; longtime collaborator Ray Rizzo (Motherlodge, Josh Ritter band) on the drums, Mark Kelley (The Roots) on bass, Josh Kauffman (Bob Weir, Josh Ritter bands) on keyboards and guitar, and Jason Lawrence on percussion. We recorded live at Brooklyn Studios in New York City with studio wizard Dan Goodwin engineering and mixing. 
From there we went to Woodstock, NY, to record vocals at Dan's studio, The Isokon. I was also joined by Will Oldham, Dawn Landes, and Lauren Balthrop on vocals and did some additional overdubbing with Brian Cronin at Goldsmith Studio in Louisville, KY. It was a very exciting and inspired time, and the end result is my first solo record, Unfamiliar Skies!

I'm so thrilled with this recording, and can hardly wait to share this music with you! As you may know, making a record is an expensive endeavor. I'm hoping to raise $10,000 to have the album mastered, press high quality  180 gram vinyl records, and download cards.
I've commissioned Ashley Brossart, one of my favorite local artists, to do the album art. If I can cover these costs, I will look to hire a publicist to help me promote the record far and wide, and I'll use any additional funds to help with touring expenses.
