Unexpected Medical and Travel Expenses

Hello! My name is Sarah I am fundraising for our 11 yr old son, Gunner. Gunner is in 6th grade and is such an amazing young man that aspires to be a police officer one day. On Dec 21st we traveled to Denver to do his end of the year check up… Our world got turned upside down by the news of him needing to have open heart surgery. He will need multiple valves replaced. Even more so that he would need it in just a few short weeks. We are all still in shock as we prepare for the unknown. So on January 20,2022 Gunner will head into surgery. We have no family in Co, all of our families are in Wy and Tx . We are looking at travel expenses, hotels, food, and tons of medical costs that we were not prepared for on such a short notice. We were told it’s a 5 day stay minimum in hospital after surgery before we can even head back home. Where he will have a 6 week recovery due to them having to break open his ribs as well.
