Unexpected loss of Bernie Avila

My name is Erik Malin and this week the world lost a great man, Bernardino 'Bernie' Avila.

On Tuesday August 3rd, Bernardino Avila was taken too soon at the young age of 53 from his family in a tragic car accident. This GoFundMe page is being set -up to assist in funeral expenses and to give his wife Elisa and his adult son Fabian the opportunity to financially breath while they navigate this new life without him. Bernardino grew up in Barranca De Otates, Jalisco, Mexico and eventually moved to United States at the age of 18. Bernardino worked in different industries before becoming a master carpenter. He was willing to help anyone and always with a smile on his face. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family which included his wife Elisa, his son Fabian, and Elisa's grandkids Aylin and Diego. Any chance he had, Bernie could be found outdoors either riding his bike up in the mountains or camping in the wilderness with nothing more than a backpack, some food, hammock, and his ukulele! I was fortunate to have spent many adventures on the bike trails and in the mountains exploring the wilderness with him. Bernardino was a special man that lived life to the fullest and will be missed by everyone. Anything we can collect would mean the world to the family and 100% goes to Elisa.
