Una Mano a Gustavo y Augusto

Donation protected
*** UPDATE on April 5th: So moved to have reached our target in less than 24 hours with generous support from around the world. I have heard from various tango communities who'd still like to contribute and have fundraising events planned.  Therefore, in consultation with Augusto, we have decided to keep the campaign open for a few more weeks. The initial target was only a minimum calculation of expenses and foregone income thus far but Augusto and Gustavo will appreciate any additional contributions and put them to good use for Gustavo's long term recovery ahead. Many thanks to everyone who has already contributed and please consider contributing if you can whilst this fundraiser is still open.***

Many of us have visited La Marshall in Buenos Aires or taken Augusto's great classes overseas. He and his spouse Gustavo are currently facing a difficult time made worse by the pandemic in Argentina. Below is Augusto's situation told in his own words (translated from the Spanish by the QT San Francisco Bay Area group using the Google Translate tool)...if you can please consider helping and show Augusto and Gustavo they have many friends and supporters around the world...Augusto and I calculated the target amount based on the months of income he has foregone to take care of Gustavo and ongoing medical expenses. The sum is in GBP because of my British bank account but you can donate in your own currency and I will wire the total we fundraise to Augusto and Gustavo in Argentina.  Miguel Kanai - Sheffield, United Kingdom.

“Hello .... We need your help.
On December 13, 2020, our lives changed completely, my husband Gustavo Aguirre had a stroke and was rushed to the hospital. He had many complications that kept him hospitalized for almost 3 months. After a brief discharge he had another hospitalization for a urinary infection and bacteremia. Ahead we will have a long and expensive kinesiology rehabilitation that we will face together.
I always asked myself what one would be capable of doing for the loved one and this last time I have been answering it every day. Among many other things, I am learning to ask for help in different ways and I come to the moment when I need to do something with which I do not feel comfortable at all: ask for financial help.
In addition to the crisis that we already know and because I dedicate myself to Gustavo 24 hours a day, since December I do not work and our resources are running out. This message is to organize a collection that allows us to meet the costs of Gustavo's recovery and rehabilitation. Any help will be welcome and appreciated, as well as the visibility of this message ...From our heart, thank you very much" Augusto Balizano
