Help Chris pay for Life-Saving Meds

Chris is a Hurricane Harvey survivor with resulting life-threatening health issues and is desperately in need of our help. Her home in Rockport suffered devastating damage due to the ravages of that storm, which has drained their finances to zero and she contracted black mold poisoning while trying to live in her damaged home while awaiting repairs. She also spent much of her time helping others who suffered flood damage.
Chris then also developed a rare necrotizing (flesh eating) bacterial pneumonia. The only antibiotics that are working are very, very expensive. She was forced to move out of her home to a medical rehab center in New Mexico, where the air is dry and mold-free.
Please help Chris pay for these life-saving antibiotics and some of her modest living expenses for the next three to four months, until her respiratory function and improved immunity has returned. Although Chris is a veteran of the United States Navy, sadly her veteran benefits are not covering these critical medications.
The following is her explanation of what is going on....
“The doctors found a large growth in my lungs. It is fortunately encapsulated, but the pneumonia is a very rare and fierce necrotizing (kills tissue) bacteria called Pseudomonas. (It is a side-effect of Black Mold poisoning. The mold and bacteria are often found where there have been natural disasters involving flooding and hurricanes). If the heavy doses of the antibiotic do not cause the bacterial growth to partially die off, I will have to have the top part of my right lung removed. We’ll know after the next CT which will be in the next three to four weeks. I’ve already lost the area of my lung where the growth is located. Gone! Killed off! I have been moved to an Advanced Care Rehabilitation hospital in New Mexico, where I receive super doses of antibiotics via IV around the clock.
I have never asked for donations for anything pertaining to me and my family before now. I have limited health insurance but, we must pay the exorbitant cost of the antibiotics I need - in excess of $2,000 a month alone. Plus, we must find the funds to keep me in New Mexico. We are down to nothing and anything you can possibly assist with, will be a huge blessing and gratefully appreciated.”
