Building Hope

We are raising funds to build a new Emergency Homeless Shelter called The Lighthouse Community Services Hub that will be able to shelter men, women, youth, families in the heart of Simcoe County.    Currently The Lighthouse is the only Emergency Shelter in Orillia and surrounding area.  

There are hundreds of women, seniors, families and youth that come through our doors of our very aging, small facility every day.   We serve approximately 25000 meals through our community meal program/year.    However we can only shelter up to 14 men/night and we are full most nights.  That is not enough.   Leaving families, senior couples, youth without housing is not right.   

Our new Community Hub will give men, women, families emergency shelter while we wrap services and resources around them on their road to wellness and Indpendant housing.

We will and are saving the community millions of dollars per year by sheltering and caring for individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, poverty, and addictions instead of in local hospitals or incarceration.
