Esta é a minha amiga Gabrielle! Ela está atualmente a transitar para o segundo (e último) ano do Mestrado em Biologia Celular e Molecular, na Universidade do Porto, mas com o aumento da propina para os estudantes internacionais de 1500€ para 2812€, ela não tem como pagar a anuidade, e poderá ter de desistir do mestrado no último ano. Por isso, gostava muito que a pudessem ajudar!!
Ela é a pessoa mais doce e trabalhadora que eu conheço! Vive sozinha desde os 18 anos, e deixou tudo para trás no Brasil, à procura de melhores oportunidades de estudo e de mais segurança em Portugal!! Ela é a primeira pessoa da família dela a ir para a faculdade, por isso este sonho é muito importante para ela e para os seus. Cá, ela trabalha um trabalho em part-time e estuda, pagando todas as suas despesas sozinha!!
Este ano, ela iria realizar a sua tese em "Métodos de Diagnóstico personalizado para a doença de Alzheimer", uma doença que tem vindo a afetar cada vez mais idosos no nosso país! Com a pandemia, e o aumento súbito de 1312€ no mestrado, a Gabrielle não tem possibilidades de pagar a propina e terminar o mestrado, situação que prejudica o seu futuro. Para além disso, se ela suspender ou desistir da faculdade, ela perderá a sua autorização de residência em Portugal, e será obrigada a regressar para o Brasil, perdendo o progresso até agora realizado no nosso país!
Assim, eu pedia a vossa ajuda para ajudar a Gabrielle a acabar o mestrado e a ser uma grande cientista no nosso lindo país, nesta altura tão complicada! Se 2812 pessoas contribuirem com 1€ para esta causa, o preço de um pastel de nata, tão famoso no nosso país, poderíamos ajudar a Gabrielle a realizar os seus sonhos!!!

This is my friend Gabrielle!!
She's about to enroll on the second (and last) year of the Master's Program of Cellular and Molecular Biology at University of Porto, but with the increment of 1300€ in her tuition, comprising a total of 2800€, she's unable to support its costs, and might have to drop out, in her last year.. Therefore, I'd be really grateful if you could help her out!!
She's the sweetest and most hardworking person I know! She's been living on her own since she was 18, and has left everything behind in Brazil to move to Portugal, seeking a better education and a safer place to live.
She's the first person in her family to ever go to college, therefore fulfilling this dream is very important to her and her family!
In Portugal, she's working a part-time job while studying and paying all her expenses and utilities on her own. During the present year, she was going to start working on her Master's Thesis, in "Methods for personalized Diagnostic of Alzheimer's disease" a rather prevalent condition in our country. Due to the pandemic, and the sudden 1300€ increase in Gabrielle's tuition, she can't afford to finish her Master's degree, therefore loosing her green card, and having to forcefully return to Brazil, putting her future in jeopardy and loosing all the academic progress she's made so far!!
Thus, I would like to ask you to help Gabrielle finish her degree and become a great scientist, especially during these difficult time when science is crucial! If everyone contributed and shared, we would be able to make Gabrielle's dreams come true!
