2020 has been a right shit house.... no? 

So imagine trying to run a one woman sanctuary in a foreign country, where you amass an endless collection of cats. You are not the newbie in town anymore and everyone knows what you do so of course they bring you many more animals, inevitably broken in some way... *ENTER STAGE LEFT* Welcome COVID-19... you little beauty. 

You are coping... just. But now all those plans you made to rehome the cats in the U.K., nope... the dog that you planned to get gone by Christmas, nah. Oh but you still have to pay all the travel fees and vets bills. And now the extra food too... have you seen the size of Athena. Big dogs= big tummies. 

Add a tablespoon of drama, a cup full of loss, swelling hours of darkness and the disappearing sun. The result of this recipe is a haemorrhaging bank balance and a dose of anxiety.

No man is an island, and although I can’t get back to physically help for some time I can try, at least to relive the financial burden. 

So with that I aim to cover 150KM in December. On foot, running and walking. This may not seem too crazy to any of you that know me but right now I’m working 12+ hour days and a shuffle to the post office is as far as I get some days. This means 5K every day In December! Christmas Eve & Boxing Day too!
