Ukrainian Wounded Solders & Civilians Need Help

Donation protected
*** Update! On the ground by the Ukrainian/ Romanian border. Just reunited with my friend’s family. Taking them to safety. Thank you for your support!

I am a proud Ukrainian living in Westport, CT. I was born in Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine, and have lived in the US since 1991. We've been in Westport for 17 years, raising our boys Jake and Sam. The devastating war in Ukraine feels very personal to my family, and I have seen enormous support to my home country pouring in from all parts of the world. We are all reeling from the crisis; knowing we have no solutions to end this war, we can help Ukrainian soldiers, civilians, and refugees. As we've been watching the news closely, hundreds of thousands of women and children have left everything behind to seek refuge while their partners and fathers fight for Ukraine. Families are separated, kids often travel alone to reach the border.

In my effort to provide individual support, I contacted my former classmates who responded immediately, appealing for help. Here are two individuals out of many who I’ve been in contact with to share their stories and request for help.

Yulia M. is a cardiologist in Vinnytsia. Her clinic is treating hundreds of wounded Ukrainian soldiers and civilians. They are in desperate need of medical supplies. According to Yulia, the situation is similar in the area hospitals. Although there are donations coming globally, on-the-ground medical personnel are not receiving the aid as quickly as needed, especially the further out from the main combat zone.

Ekaterina P. is asking for financial assistance for her two teenage daughters, Polina and Sofia, traveling alone to reach the Polish border. Ekaterina's family evacuated from her hometown of Hostomel, just outside of Kyiv. Unfortunately, she's unable to accompany her daughters as she must stay back to mobilize her elderly parents while her daughters make their long and terrifying journey to the border. The girls will need financial support when they cross the border to Poland for food, shelter, and transportation to their final destination in Europe.

These are real people pleading for help. Our family is starting this Go-fund Me page to provide immediate support to the hospitals in Ukraine, civilians like Ekaterina, and many others in desperate need. Every dollar donated will directly impact refugees and medical aid efforts.  Funds will go directly to the individuals in need and to the Direct Relief | Official Charity Site | DirectRelief.org.

DirectRelief.org is working with Ukraine's Ministry of Health and other on-the-ground partners to provide urgently needed medical aid, including emergency response packs intended for first responders, oxygen concentrators, critical care medicines, and much more.

Your generosity and kindness are greatly valued and appreciated! Please share this page with friends and family. Humanity will win!
