I was notified on Nov. 25th that the home we've been renting is being sold. Our landlord has been ill and is now in a long term care facility. The estate lawyers are selling her properties to pay for her care. We have been renting on a monthly basis, after the original lease expired.
I need your help. I am facing a crippling and very painful situation. I am desperate.
There are three major issues:
**First month's rent & deposit, utilities
**Uhaul & Storage unit
**Repairs to my truck (battery, brake line, hood latch & oxygen sensor)
I am disabled, so the only income is SSI. We have been using the city transit and walking since February, after my truck broke down. (Bonus of that is the weight loss!) I need immediately-available transportation for this relocation.
I have been contacting agencies and churches, but I'm not qualified for most of their programs. The extremely short period of time that I've been given is making it almost impossible to receive any immediate aid.
I have been approved for Public Housing, here in Winston-Salem. I need 1st month's rent, deposit and utilities, in order to receive a placement.
I am also eligible for Abingdon and Marion Housing and I am applying for Section 8 in those areas.
I need to rent a Uhaul for 2 to 3 days and pay for help loading/unloading the Uhaul. I have to rent a storage unit.
I must have my truck towed to a garage and get an estimate of the cost for repairs. There is a program that might be able to help with some of those costs, since I am disabled.
I am begging anyone that is reading this to PLEASE consider donating, even if it's only a few dollars!
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I know that anyone else would be scared, too, and need help in this type of situation. I will not be ashamed or embarrassed. I'm an Eternal Optimist, so that is helping me to stay positive and focused. I'm also stubborn (many thanks to Mama, for that!), so giving up is not an option.
I can show proof of how it is spent, if need be, to anyone that requests it.
