Seizure Response Dog
Donation protected
Hey there and welcome to my GoFundMe page!
In 2017 I was diagnosed with psychogenic non-epileptic seizures caused by Conversion Disorder, a condition in which physical symptoms cannot be medically explained. These type of seizures appear highly similar to those of an epileptic, but do not have the electrical discharges that define epilepsy.
I am currently studying Neuroscience and Cognitive Sciences at The University of Arizona Honors College and do worry about what is going to happen if I were to have a seizure on a campus where nobody knows of my medical history.
With that being stated, a seizure response dog would be remarkably beneficial for me. A seizure response dog could prevent me from obtaining any injuries while seizing, bark to alert others that a medical emergency is occurring, and carry my required rescue medications in their vest.
I cannot put into words how much a seizure response dog would mean to my life. For the first time since my seizures began, I would have a sense of security. I would never have to worry about whether or not I would receive help if I were to have a seizure on campus.
Having a seizure response dog will provide my family and I with the peace of mind that I will be safe while on campus. Please help me regain that sense of security I lost when my seizures began and restore some normality in my life. Any donations are wholeheartedly appreciated. Thank you so much for visiting my page.
