UK Emergency 3D Printed Face Shields

There is  a critical shortage of medical personal protective equipment (PPE) and as the pandemic worsens supplies are expected to dwindle further. Medical institutions around the country have reached out to the community for help, as traditional suppliers are overwhelmed or closed.

A more pragmatic approach is needed- the production of functional shields to protect medical workers that can be produced by anyone with the raw materials and tools. Thanks to collaborators in the Czech Republic at Prusa 3D,  we have a design that we can manufacture at Stowood Scientific Instruments.

Hospitals are requesting supplies but we only have so much material on hand and can only afford so much to donate to produce these. At Stowood we are assembling the facilities to manufacture complete face masks, but we can only donate limited amounts of materials. It would be great if you can help.
This is where this campaign comes in. We are looking for support to allow us to cover the cost of materials and transport of these masks wherever they are needed. Each frame costs around £2.20 in materials, plus running costs of the machines. Any donations we cannot use will be donated to the national fundraiser.
