Uganda - Amecet: Shelter of Peace

In January, Tim and I will be traveling to Uganda to volunteer with YWAM Soroti at Amecet. Soroti is a small village in rural Uganda. Amecet n’ainapakin, which translates to Shelter of Peace, is a ministry of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) reaching out to children infected and affected by HIV. Amecet also takes in newborn babies who have lost their mother during delivery in addition to all other children who are without a safe place to live. We hope to provide our services as nurse and pharmacist to help the children at Amecet who are in need.
YWAM Soroti has several other ministries as well, including a pre-school and primary school, a dischipleship training school, and a women's outreach group for single mothers and the elderly. Through this women's ministry, they are helping to build suitable housing for many of the elderly residents who are living in unacceptable and unsafe conditions. YWAM Soroti is also working with single mothers to assist with microloans for business startup opportunities.
Tim and I are hoping to raise money to offer as a donation to YWAM Soroti. We are hoping to use the money to provide YWAM Soroti with whatever they are in need of, including but not limited to medication for children, healthcare supplies, and formula for orphaned infants. We thank you in advance for your kindness, love, and generosity. Your donation is not just a show of financial support to YWAM Soroti, but a tangible expression of love and support to Tim and I. We also ask you for your prayers, that we would travely safely and that God may use us in whatever way necessary for His kingdom.
