Uganda Service Trip 2019

In 6 months I have the opportunity to go on my first mission trip. I will be traveling with a team to Uganda Africa where we will be serving and empowering along side 4 organizations.
In order for me to go, I am reaponsible for fundraising a total of $3,500.

While in Uganda we will be doing so much good!
Here’s who we are serving with and a little about what we’ll be doing :
UGANDAN ORPHAN CHILDCARE MINISTRY - An orphanage currently at overflow capacity. We will be helping ‘raise the roof’ of their current dorms to allow them to bring the over flow of children home from foster care. (Foster care in Uganda is unlike that of the United States. Children are placed in home where they are the caretaker of an elderly or disabled person instead of being cared for.)
SOLE HOPE - This organization educates and treats people who have been affected by jiggers. Jiggers are a parasitic sand flea the burrows into the skin, lays eggs and multiples. It is incredibly uncomfortable and painful. Currently Uganda is still a very superstitious country and jiggers are often looked upon as a curse for having done something wrong.
HEALING FAITH - This organization tackles the tiny killer and the disease that is causes, malaria. A sickness brought on by a mosquito bite, causing illness and death. Most commonly in children under the age of 5. Every minute a child in Uganda dies of malaria. A very preventable and treatable disease.
AFRICAN HEARTS - An organization that addresses the overwhelming issue of young children (specifically boys) living on the streets in the slums. They provide education, safety, health care when possible and a daily meal for children that would otherwise not have access to these resources.
