My name is Ben Payne and I am asking the world at large for your help.
A very dear friend whom I have know for 15 years was found on the bathroom floor of his home on Sunday, February 28, 2016 by his wife. He was taken to the emergency room, admitted, and placed in ICU for internal bleeding. He has been there ever since.
He is 48 years old. He has a wife , 3 grown daughters & a 12 year old step-daughter.
Ed is self employed. Has been his entire life. He has been in poor health and out of work for almost 4 months. He has no health or life insurance as he was unable to pay the premiums because he's been too sick to work. His wife and family have been by his side daily since he was admitted
On March 13th, the hospital informed his family that his systems are shutting down and there is nothing that they can do and they are referring them to hospice. The hospital is basically throwing in the towel. They have no choice. There is nothing else that they can do.
Ed has a heart as big as his truck. He is one of the most skilled craftsmen I have ever met. He helps his friends and neighbors fix their cars, repair their homes, teach their kids how to ride a bike and basicially is a fill in dad for the kids in the neighborhood who don't have one for whatever reason. He would and has given the shirt off his back to help folks for free using parts and material that he purchased for them because they could not when HE couldn't afford to do it.
He worships his wife and that little girl. He looks at them when they come into the room and tears up. He cannot speak. I know he sees and hears everything around him. You can see it in his eyes. He just cannot express it. It is heartbreaking.
The medical bills along with the costs of final expenses are going to be staggering so I have no idea what to ask for as far as funding.
I am a general contractor by trade. If you live within 25 miles of Flower Mound, TX and contribute $100 I will give 5% off of any/all work that you need done to your home or business. If you make a contribution of $500, that reduction will increase to 10%.
