Helping Harrison

This is Harrison, my 10 month old baby cousin. He's the sweetest little guy you could meet-- with a love and joy for life that really is unmatched. He's happy-go lucky and I think he'd about have to try to have a bad day.

A few months back, he was on the way to Colorado for vacation with his parents and had a stroke in the car.

His mom and dad took him to children's hospital in Denver, and soon found out that this was actually the second stroke he'd had in a short time. A few days later, doctors diagnosed him with Moya Moya disease, a rare disease which affects only 0.086 per 100,000 in the population. To make a rare and complicated disease more understandable, the carotid artery in Harrison's skull constricts the amount of blood delivered to his brain--which is what caused his strokes.



Harrison is scheduled for revascularization surgery on October 18th, where the surgeons will bypass blocked arteries to help restore blood flow to his brain.

My goal is to raise $4,000. This money will go directly to Harrison and his family to help make the cost of medical bills much more manageable.

I don't ask for help often, but I can't think of a better cause or reason to chip in even a few dollars. It'd mean a lot to me, to Harrison, to his mom and dad, the rest of our family and everyone that knows and loves this little guy.
