Couple in their 20s Infertility and IVF Journey

Donation protected
Hi, myself (Benjamin, M28) and my partner Chloe (F27) have been trying to conceive naturally for some time with no luck. Chloe suffers with Endometriosis which in itself can have a negative impact on fertility. We are hoping to raise funds for IVF as this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for us!

We have been together for almost 5 years, and this whole time we have planned on having a family. After only a few years together we had already picked out our children’s names (both for boy or girl), spoken about the memories we can’t wait to make, and how great of parents we will be.

After receiving some results it appears Chloe’s ovarian reserve came back at the very bottom of the bracket, which the consultant compared to a 42+ year old woman’s reserve, regardless of the fact Chloe is only 27. The consultant has now advised our original plan is no longer viable as the medication they offer, even at the highest doses our success rate would be 0%. So they have recommended a different clinic for us to use which has more in-depth knowledge, state-of-the-art facilities, and the ability to give us all the medication and treatments Chloe would require for this time. There is however one major concern, they stated this treatment needs to be started as soon as possible, and at the latest in July of this year. Just to explain this a little further, Chloe’s egg reserve is at the very end of the bracket and almost depleted. This means with every period her egg reserve will continue to drop which is why they had advised it has to be done over the next few months, because after July they are concerned she will have no eggs left to retrieve. So time is really of the essence!

We originally anticipated a much cheaper option that was in our budget, however, now we are on such a rushed time scale as this must be done over the next few months. This wasn’t something we expected to happen, and it’s another hurdle in our already difficult fertility journey.

Our goal includes the total amount for all treatment costs including 1 Cycle of Mild IVF (£3,795), 1 Cycle IVF Support Package (£975), 1 Year of Embryo Freezing (£835), ICSI (Intracytoplasmic sperm injection) in Mild Cycle (£1,350) and Medications (1,260). A list of the medications required can be found in the Updates. Our success rate for this cycle is 40%, which may sound like a gamble but the HFEA national average is only 27% which means we are 13% more likely to be successful than the average couple.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us and is extremely time-sensitive. We appreciate your support and this means everything to us. It brings us one step closer to becoming the parents we have always dreamed about.

With love
Ben and Chloe
