Missy's Medical Fund

As many know, in February of this year, Missy had a pretty hefty surgical procedure on her left foot to repair several bones – a surgery that was needed for quite some time.  She was on a leave of absence from work until about mid-April, when she returned with a cast, then walking boot (which she will wear periodically for a few more months).  Shortly after her return to work, following a routine mammogram, she was diagnosed with a very aggressive (high grade invasive DCIS - between stages two and a half and three) type of breast cancer two hours before closing on her first home this past May.  Very shortly after the diagnosis, she began a series of chemotherapy treatments in hopes of reducing the size of the tumor.  The treatments were recommended by her Oncologist prior to performing any type of surgery, which will likely come later this year.  Fortunately, her position at her Employer is secure, as is her pay, but it has temporarily been impacted.  In addition to the normal financial responsibilities of living (mortgage, car, utilities, etc.), the medical bills have started trickling in and they are substantial to say the least.  She will be on a continuous leave of absence from work at least until all rounds of the chemo are complete (end of September) and will evaluate her return to work date based on when her surgery will be done.
