Kara's relief funding

Donation protected
Kara lost her dream home 8 years ago to fire, after a 2-year rebuild they finally got back into their home, unfortunately things did not work out as hoped and her and the girls had to moved out of the home a couple years ago. If you know Kara and the girls you will know that since the fire things have not been easy, but a year ago her and the girls finally found a home in Constance Bay where they could put up their feet up relax and rebuild their lives. The girls have been able to grow and over come past adversities and become wonderful little ladies.

Sadly the home they could afford was a Constance Bay Special, a older cottage that was added on to a few times so the structure wasn't the best but it was safe, large enough for all of them and allowed them to bring into their home a wee little pup that a friend rescued from a garbage in Cuba. They felt secure and safe.

In May the flood waters hit Constance Bay and even though Kara's house is not on the water, like many others, the groundwater rose and flooded her basement. Unlike most of the other houses the water has never left her home. There is now a stream running through her basement (she is pumping out 18 gallons a minutes!!!) This past week (July 13) Kara finally got a Geo Tech engineer out to her house and the report is bad, the front half of her house is likely to collapse. We don't know when but it is inevitable. The engineer who was here before and a contractor have told her that due the amount of work that would be needed, it is much too expensive to repair and she needs to tear down and rebuild the entire home. On top of that is the challenge and extreme expense it will be to manage the water that is flowing. So in every respect it is bad!!

Here is a video of the water in her basement.

Kara is self-employed, she is an amazing graphic designer but the stress of this has taken a toll on her work. Since she lost a long-term contract at the beginning of the year she had yet to replace that with anything as stable, this affordable home was their only saving grace.
If you are self-employed you will know that not having paid vacation or sick days and always having to be ready to serve your clients is tricky during the best of days, but to have to be 'on' for your clients when battling something like loosing your home and trying to take care of your family is sometimes more then one person can handle.

Since the house in uninhabitable she is trying to arrange to move into a small 2 bedroom-4 season cottage just down the road, this is a large added expense and it is for a long haul. Please help us to help her and the girls cover some of these extra-ordinary expenses. Paying a mortgage and rent, utilities for 2 places, storage for all her household items (the cottage is too small for anything but her very basic items), and trying afford to tear down and rebuild a house is massive expense, the disaster relief funding available will only be able to cover a portion of the rebuild expense. This family needs all the support they can get!!!! Please help if you can and share this post so other can help too.

UPDATE!!! This morning (July 17th) a massive tree fell on Kara's car! The car is a write off, now on top of having to move her family, find storage for all of her contents, tear down and rebuild her house, now she has to deal will having no vehicle and with the expense of removing the tree (of course her insurances - ALLSTATE - does not cover the tree falling, the car is covered but not the expense of getting rid of the tree) (fyi they don't even offer flood insurance, so her house is not covered at all either).

THIS IS URGENT PLEASE HELP HOW EVER YOU CAN!!
