Hi all, appreciate you taking the time to visit my page!
I'm running the Dublin marathon on October 28th, and in doing so hope to raise at least €1,500 for Pieta House and Living Links Tipperary, two worthwhile charities focused on the area of suicide prevention and support for those contemplating, or bereaved by suicide. All funds raised in my name are part of an overall fundraising campaign, 'Running for Josie'.
This campaign is organised by my friend Seamus Hennessy, who is attempting to raise the grand sum of €200,000 by completing the Antarctic Ice Marathon in December. Once learning about the effort Seamus was making I was eager to contribute in any small way possible, but as a non-runner little did I think it would lead down the path of a marathon attempt!
Seamus has a powerful and moving story about how his life has been impacted by suicide, and is an active campaigner in the area of suicide and mental health awareness. His story and campaign has inspired me and a number of others to run the Dublin Marathon on behalf of Running for Josie. Please if you can, take a few moments to learn about the story at the links below.
Again thank you for visiting the page, and any small contribution is greatly appreciated.
