Save the Huskies at Tyrone Husky Rescue

Please help keep Tyrone Husky Rescue open, to save them from closure.

As of late the whole country has been struggling with increasing pressures of cost of living, we know times are hard, especially throughout the month of January. Times like this take an impact on everyone’s lives but the non-profit organisations and charities who often struggle all year round are now desperately being left behind as they totally rely on public donations.
Tyrone Husky Rescue has been really suffering the last few months trying to make ends meet and without your kind donations (no matter how small), we simply cannot keep on top of the overheads that come with running an animal rescue.

Lately, it has been a very tough road, facing challenges like homelessness so that dogs were not given up on and so they would still have a care giver on site. As most of you know last year THR moved premises and the new set up is fantastic, everything was done with the dogs being a first thought. Without the generous donations from the public, we would not have been able to do this and would have had to close back in 2021. Our committee and volunteers are fighting hard to stay open, but we need your help. With all the effort that has went into the rescue we cannot let this happen now!

Unfortunately, unless there’s help, this may be a last plea. The rescue is at capacity with more people begging us to take dogs, we simply do not have the room or funding available. We cannot give up, we have amazing supporters, volunteers and a wonderful fundraising committee who dedicate their own valuable time to help the dogs who ask for nothing in return, just to make sure the dogs are safe and well.

The rescue has been open for 6 years now and in that time, we have rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed over 300 dogs, most are Northern Breeds but not forgetting a few mixed breeds, Whippets and Bull Breeds. There is no doubt that breed specific rescues are a definite necessity in this country as the majority of these dogs would not have got another chance at life. We also have our rescue residents who will remain at THR until the end of their days. Due to neglect and abuse before rescue help - these dogs cannot be rehomed to the public due health or behaviour issues, some with bite history and aggression who are only comfortable with our regular volunteers after a lot of patience and work, we are their only option.

We really need donations now – to keep the dogs in our care fed, to look after their veterinary treatments, medical costs, to pay the rescue’s rent and to continue to help dogs in need. Any donation, no matter the size will be greatly received.

Thank you for reading, please help us share this far and wide to get as much help as possible.

Thank you,
