Type 1 Diabetes Relief Fund - Covid-19

Life is difficult for those with Type 1 diabetes in the developing world in normal times, but lockdowns and mass business closures caused by Covid-19 have thrown many families into economic ruin. We are looking to support our local partner in India, DREAM Trust, to provide 300 families affected by Type 1 diabetes with a grant of £150 to see them through these difficult times.
Whilst the Indian government is providing emergency rations, most of the families we work with take daily wages, which is no longer viable in the current situation. Insulin costs as much as half of a poor family's monthly income in a normal situation, and now families are battling a complete loss of income, the permanent destruction of their small businesses, and difficulties accessing their usual sources of medication.
£150 may seem like a small sum, but for these families it will be life-changing in their ability to overcome this adverse situation, and ensure that their T1D children remain healthy.
