Tyndale Gym/Classroom Expansion

Over 25 years of operation, our Father in Heaven has richly blessed TCS with growth in enrollment, the addition of kindergarten, high school grades, and numerous additional educational programs. During this time, TCS has also been blessed with additional facilities including a school expansion, new portables, sports fields, and an outdoor skating rink.

With the continued growth, TCS has experienced an increasing need for additional space for educational programs, physical education and sports programs. To meet this need, a combined classroom and gymnasium facility expansion was developed, presented to, and approved by the TCS school society.

The goals for the gymnasium and classroom expansion can be summarized by four key points: Enriching Education, Developing Talent, Building Community, and in all things Glorifying God. 

The new facility will Enrich Education by adding classroom space to meet short- and long-term educational program requirements and expanded program options. It will provide opportunity to Develop Talent through a gymnasium that will better support physical education and sports programs. The new facility will also support Building Community through the gymnasium space which will be available for hosting recreational sports and social events for the school and the greater church community, both the Canadian Reformed Church at Calgary and other churches with members in the school society. We believe that this facility will bring significant benefits to all ages within our communities – school age children, graduated young adults, parents of children within the school, adults within the Church community, and elderly members of our community. And most importantly, it is our desire and our prayer that in all things, including this expansion project and the use of it, we Glorify God.

Construction on this project began in April, 2022, and the current targeted completion date is March 31, 2023.

The Building Committee recently provided an updated budget of $1,750,000 for the project. With thankfulness to our Heavenly Father, we are pleased to announce that we have raised roughly $1,110,000 toward this project.

We have a willing and eager – but relatively small – school membership and a local church community that is excited to move forward with this project. While the budget of $1,750,000 is challenging, we believe that with our internal resources and fundraising, volunteer labour to reduce building costs, and the help of our larger Christian family, this is an attainable goal. In all of this, we pray for and trust in God’s continued care and blessing, and are thankful for all that we continue to receive by His hand.
