Tyler's brain tumour fund

5 years ago my 18 year old son, Tyler, was diagnosed with a stage 2 diffuse Astrocytoma  (Brain tumour) in the left frontal lobe of his brain. 

Unfortunately stage 2 Astrocytoma's do not have well defined edges, so they are very hard to remove completely.  :(  We knew this before his surgery, but it doesn't ever prepare you for knowing that they can't remove the whole thing from your child's brain.  

Not long after his diagnosis he had the bulk of the tumour removed.  We were ecstatic they could do this as we hoped this would be the end of it all.  We had high hopes that the small part of the tumour left would just stay there, stagnant and not ever regrow.
Unfortunately, here we are, 5 years later and after his last MRI - his tumour has grown back - in some respects it is larger than it was previously.  

Tyler is gearing up for more neurosurgery to try and de-bulk the tumour.This time, Tyler is an independent 24 year old man, who is not only feeling the burden of his diagnosis, but who is also feeling the burden of financial insecurity.  It was a long road to recovery 5 years ago, so we are expecting much of the same.  

Tyler will be unable to work during his recovery, and rather than him trying to rush his recovery and returning to work before he is well and truely ready - as a family unit we have all come to the conclusion that it's time to ask for some help.

Tyler is having his surgery on the 19th of this month, so work has already ceased for him, and unfortunately rent, bills and expenses still need to be paid, even when you are no longer receiving an income.   Every little bit counts.
