Dear Community,
I come to you to seek support and assistance. For the last few years, I’ve been trying to get oral surgery due to previously not having insurance. I was never able to afford the needed surgery until recently. Although I am able to cover the cost of both oral surgeries, I was not able to get approved in time for short term disability. My surgery is being done in Orlando due to affordability. I am in need of $3,000 for travel to and from Orlando, as well as covering some of my living expenses I will not be able to cover during this time.
This surgery is not for cosmetic purposes. Those who know me well, know that I have suffered pain and dental problems for quite some time. I know this is not a gender-affirming surgery, but to me, this is a life-affirming surgery. I would like to no longer live and pain and be able to smile with my mouth open.
