Two Player's Most Excellent HAAM Fundraiser

Tax deductible

Two Player's "Power Plant" Fundraiser for Health Alliance for Austin Musicians

Two Player is emerging from our pandemic-in-hiding with a killer new album called "Power Plant." As nobody buys physical music anymore, we always try to link our album releases in with some kind of real-word "thing." This time, we're doing something different by calling on our 2P community to help us raise funds - in the name of rock n' roll! - for an Austin organization that has kept us and many thousands of other Austin based musicians healthy and able to work full-time as musicians: Health Alliance for Austin Musicians.

The mission of the HAAM is to provide access to affordable healthcare for low-income, uninsured working musicians, focusing on prevention and wellness. Every penny donated via this fundraiser goes directly to HAAM! We have our own studio here in Austin - The Dream Studio - and recording this album didn't cost us anything to make but a whole lot of quarantine hours. However, the positive impact for us, financially and emotionally, of the support and access to affordable health care that HAAM has provided and continues to provide us (we've been members since 2006!) cannot be overstated.

So! We're calling on you to dig up some $$ you might once upon a time used to buy a CD or record, maybe add some to it if you've got the means, and make a donation to HAAM. Once we've raised at least $3,250 for HAAM, we'll drop the new album "Power Plant" on you on every platform there is. Can we do it?

If you donated and still want to "tip the band," well we sure would appreciate it. You can do so via PayPal by visiting the Two Player Website.

During these next days and weeks we'll be dropping videos, how-to's, behind the scenes content and more on our Two Player social media channels and that'll give you a taste of the  music you'll be getting once we hit the target goal (and hopefully beyond). Make sure you're following Two Player on Instagram , YouTube  and Twitter  to get the good stuff.

About the Album "Power Plant" - by Hoag

Bonesaw and I both say this is the most fun album we’ve ever made. After we tracked, mixed and mastered it here at our studio in south Austin, The Dream, we were texting each other for weeks.

“This album rules, dude.”

“These songs are massive, man.”

“F— yeah, Power Plaaaaaant.”

Our debut album Futureman was a proggy, swirling, sneaky, dark document of unease. Heavy themes and mysterious sounds lurked in the shadows, in the corners. The result was great, but we didn’t want to do it again.

Power Plant sits in broad daylight and amongst fresh air. Odd that the pandemic brought this group of celebratory anthems out of us, but that’s how it happened. We wanted to deliver some rippers to you all, and to ourselves; songs that weigh 1,000 pounds, with riffs and grooves that lean into the coming post-pandemic era with optimism and the promise of….of what? Guitar solos and bomb beats, that’s what.

This is the style of music Bonesaw and I grew up on. It’s the locked-in pocket we like to dip into when we are seeking to mightily plant our sound in the ground when nobody else is around to even hear it. But you’re about to hear it. We’ll be bringing it to you soon. In your speakers, and on a stage.
