Like most of us my life is a busy one. As the owner of a thriving Pet Nanny Service out of Concord, MA my summers are especially busy. This year was no different. I had a full schedule of client's who would be away and I was looking forward to caring for those sweet furry faces that bring me such joy. On June 26th I got news that not only changed my fun summer plans but it has change my life forever.
I received the news that no woman wants to hear. I was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer; cancer in both breasts. My doctor laid out my protocol and what was about to happen. I left her office feeling completely numb. It was days before I had digested some of the news and still think there is some level of disassociation from my diagnosis. My protocol consists of 5 months of chemotherapy. I have already completed 2.5 months and am happy to report that as of last week I completed my 4th and final round of the two most toxic drugs I will be receiving. These drugs leave me feeling debilitated, nauseous, I have an oily taste in my mouth thus making food completely unappealing. These are just a few of my symptoms post chemo. I will spare you the rest. After I complete my chemo regime in early December 2018 I will have radiation and in early 2019 I will undergo two major reconstruction surgeries before I am healed and can rebuild my new life & get back to those puppies that I love so very much.
So, as you can see my road is a long one. My protocol leaves me so debilitated that I have not been able to work and do what I love the most in this world. I don't expect I will be able to get back to my business until summer 2019. As a small business owner I am not able to reap the benefits that someone working for a company might have when they are in a crisis. Nothing could have prepared me for what I am facing now. It's daunting & scary to say the least. Therefore; I am in need of funds to help with both daily living as well as paying bills. I am blessed to have an amazing support team made up of family, friends, client's etc. I hope that with your compassion & support you can help my cause so I can concentrate on getting through my journey, heal, get healthy and strong and finally put all this behind me.
