Help Lauren Heal

My sister is Lauren Bailey. She is only 32 years old. On June 16, 2017, she went into cardiac arrest. She was resuscitated, and is still with us today. She has been on a ventilator and was basically in a coma. We were told she would probably not get any better. Amazingly, she somehow came out of the coma and she has most of her memory from what we can tell so far. She is no longer on the ventilator and she's breathing on her own now. We are so thankful she is still with us! Unfortunately, her kidneys are not functioning on their own. She is on dialysis for now, but we are hoping her kidneys will start working on their own so she won't have to be on dialysis for the rest of her life. The other unfortunate issue is that due to some of her major organs not functioning in the beginning, her body was unable to circulate blood to her right lower extremity. Lauren's right leg had to be amputated just above her knee. Her amputation was on July 3rd, so she's not fully aware yet that it has even happened. Due to the same issue, she will also lose some of her toes on her left foot. Today is July 5th, and this is the first day she has been awake enough to ask what happened to her. She is still in ICU and we are not sure when she will be well enough to leave the hospital. Lauren is in the hospital in Tyler, TX, which is about 3 hours away from our homes. The medical expenses and travel expenses have been overwhelming. We are starting this fundraiser for Lauren. Hopefully she can recover from this terrible accident and somehow have a happy life again. Lauren has a son, her mother, myself, and other family and friends who all love her so much! We are hoping and praying for Lauren to recover, physically and mentally. She will have deficits, but she will be alive and with us! Any contributions would be greatly appreciated. My name is Christina, and I am Lauren's sister.
