In June, she was admitted to Sentara for the joyous delivery of her 2nd child, Mason. After fighting for his life for eleven long days, my godson, Mason, born a premie, weighing only 14 oz, went home to glory on June 30. Shortly after the delivery of her son, Monique Johnson was re-admitted to the hospital due to chest pains. During her span in the hospital, after the first set of tests, the doctors pre-diagnosed her with sarcoidosis or cancer. Three days later of additional testing, her results returned, concluding that Monique, at 31 years of age, has stage 4 cancer. She is currently on leave from her place of employment without pay. The disability provider is giving her a difficult time concerning the processing of her short and long term disability requests. She is also in the process of preparing for the burial of her son and facing difficulties with paying existing bills and upcoming doctor bills.
