TURN IT UP for The Cave Collective!

Dear humanoids and business things,

When we launched The Cave Collective in early 2019, we had $300 dollars and a dream of building an engaging arts and culture center for all ages. When we chose to shutter our venue in March of 2020 due to Covid-19, we were hosting 5+ events per week, plus staffing a burgeoning after-school program that allowed us to show off our rotating visual art gallery. Hundreds of community members came into our space every week to create and enjoy art, music, written work, and friendships. Closing down our venue was one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make, but we did it to keep our valued community safe during the pandemic.

Looking ahead, we can see the end of the pandemic and feel excited to reopen our venue. Our year of live-stream events and socially-distanced outdoor concerts has served to make us a stronger and more innovative team and gave us time to re-incorporate as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Nothing, not even a pandemic, can stop the arts from prevailing in our strong Rapid City community. We have spent months designing our new venue with YOU and the rest of our community in mind. Our new Cave Collective features 3500 square feet of event space, an in-house coffee shop, cozy study nooks, and communal seating. Our diverse partnerships with local youth organizations, mental health initiatives, spiritual centers, theatres, and Indigenous-led arts coalitions have allowed us to artfully craft a space that is truly a good fit for all.

You've been a valued part of our community for many years, and we know you're dedicated to investing in Rapid City. We are so excited to invite you to join us at The Cave Collective. Our inaugural event was a masked, socially-distanced event featuring Lifeway's annual AMP presentation, an exhibition that showcases the art, music, and performances of diverse middle and high school-aged youth within our community. Springboarding from that event on March 13th, we will officially launch on May 1st with a full roster of masked and socially-distanced activities within our space that will include book clubs, support groups, recovery meetings, yoga, audio/video production courses, band practice spaces, concerts, open mic nights, poetry slams, hanging galleries, art classes, and tutoring.

The Cave Collective cannot happen without community support. Along with the excitement of a new venue comes the responsibility of making it a safe, engaging, and creative space for all. This phenomenal space costs money to create, and we ask you to consider offering financial support to this incredible community endeavor. One of our largest upcoming expenses is the construction of our full-service coffee bar. With this coffee shop, we'll be able to provide valuable job training and financial support to dozens of local teens who can work with us to create a warm atmosphere. Our budget overview sees the upcoming expenditure for a fully-functioning coffee shop at $15,500. Would you be willing to contribute to support this crucial community work? With your one-time investment or recurring financial gift, we get much closer to offering this community center to our city. As a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we can provide a charitable contribution receipt for tax-deduction purposes.

We are always open to advice, insight, opportunities, and questions from our fellow Rapid City community members. If you have any questions or would like more information about the reopening of The Cave Collective, you can reach us anytime at [email redacted] or at [phone redacted]. It is a pleasure and an honor to bring you into this adventure. We cannot wait for the resurrection of this creative, engaging, and community-building space as we build these dreams into reality, again.

Warmest regards,
