Turkey Earthquake Relief Direct Fund

Dear Family and Friends,

As you may all already know, there was a devastating earthquake in Turkey.

As some of you may also know, I am from Turkey and know many that have been impacted by damage, injury, and loss of life.

It’s been 20 days and people still don’t know what will happen next, what they will eat today, where they will sleep. This earthquake is not their fault, and they shouldn’t be paying for it, I should be paying for even just the smallest amount if I can make them feel a little less alone.

Yes, I could be helping using a Turkish or American non-profit organization but unfortunately, as some people still need direct and more immediate support – I could not wait or risk not offering some relief. This fund will allow us to support those that are still waiting for immediate support for their funerals, treatments, medications, resources to evacuate their city, etc.

These funds collected will be transferred to my brother. My brother and his family were residents of Osmaniye, but due to the most recent quake, they have evacuated to live with close relatives. Osmaniye is severely damaged and sadly one of the least-resourced cities currently. He will be taking the responsibility of reaching back to neighbors, friends, colleagues, and most at risk so that he can provide fair and equal support to those in urgent need that cannot wait. Sadly, my brother and family witnessed their friends, and neighbors under debris whom they were chatting with a few hours before disaster. I am not trying to create emotional abuse; I am just sharing honestly. These events are tragic, and we have a duty to support, boost morale, and help those in need. My reaction is not empathy or sympathy it is a responsibility of being human.
