Tunji Awojobi - Friend, Brother, and Teammate

My friends,

Tunji has undergone some significant medical conditions, procedures, and challenges over the past 2 years.  

Years of basketball have taken its toll on his body.  He was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat while at Boston University.  Tunji - surprise, surprise - kept his medical issues and challenges a secret for over 25 years.

In 2019, Tunji began Dialysis treatments and is on a kidney donation registry to receive a new kidney.  None of us knew this  at our 2019 BU basketball alumni reunion.  

To start February 2021, Tunji is recovering from heart bypass surgery he had this past week.  So far, everything is ok considering the circumstances.  The next 5 weeks will be spent healing and on physical therapy.

Due to his medical conditions and the pandemic, Tunji has been unable to work for the last 2 years. 

Our Brother needs our help and support.I’m hoping we canhelp raise $12,000 to cover Tunji’s living expenses for the next 6  months

I don’t want him worrying about his mortgage and other payments.  He needs to focus on healing  and the medical challenges that he will face in receiving a donated kidney.
