Tumor Surgery for "Baby" ASAP

Update: Ketsele "Baby" came through the surgery well. The vet was able to successfully remove the tumor and she is home resting now. They are sending the tissue out to test to see if it is benign or malignant. We are crossing our fingers for good results.

This is Ketsele "Baby" a 13 yr old kitty who was rescued from Peninsula Humane Society when she was 6 yr old by Ester Eisenberg, a 92 yr old local resident whose cat had past away. Stacey who is behind "Baby" was Ester's caregiver. They went together to look for a new kitty for Ester. Baby chose Ester to be her new friend. Ester loved "Baby" and spoiled her. A couple years after bringing Ketsele home, Ester passed away. Ketsele was depressed and heartbroken. 

Ester's family did not want Ketsele and was considering bringing the 9 yr old cat to the shelter. Stacey could not let this happen, so she adopted Baby. Stacey is a very giving person with limited financial resources, but she continued to spoil Baby and Baby has become the love of Stacey's life.

Three months ago, Baby started to develop a lump on her side. Stacey hoped for the best that it would resolve itself. She did not have the resources to take her to the vet. The lump continued to grow. Baby is still eating and acting relatively normal, but last week the growth started to slow Baby down and the growth now is the size of a softball. Two days ago Stacey gathered all her available funds and brought her to Grand Lake Veterinary Hospital in Oakland for test. Yesterday, the tumor broke open and started to bleed, she needed emergency care. They are estimating the cost of the surgery and treatment to be minimum $1800. The lab test were completed and cost Stacey $167. 

Stacey is a very humble person and is now working extra side jobs to try to raise enough money to help Baby. 

I offered to set up this funding site for Stacey. Not only was she a loving caregiver for Ester, but when Ester passed, Stacey became a caregiver to Baby.
