Help Our Family in Puerto Rico

Hi my name is Amaryllis Nassar from Philadelphia, PA. My dad and brothers decided to do something to help support our family in Puerto Rico affected by hurricane Maria. They are in terrible need of water and basic suppies. We have a ton of family (aunts, uncles, cousins) on the island and are sending as much as possible to mutliple families that need immediate help.
The money that we are raising will literally help us purchase supplies that they have limited to no access to - water, canned goods, generators, blow-up matresses, towels, sheets, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, personal toiletries, batteries, candles, etc. We will ship these items directly to family members to ensure that they recieve it, can use it and share it with other family members and neighbors.
Here's how it works: you generously make a gift (thank you), I will personally withdrawl these funds, will purchase the items, box them up and with the great support of American Airlines, will directly ship these items as a cargo shipment. You gift will support all of these steps. I have coordinted with two cousins (Leyda Rivera in Rio Grande and Eli Santigao in Toa Alta) to recieve the shipments in PR (no one else can pick these boxes up), and disperse the items to other family members once recieved.
EFFORT UPATE:
Oct 2: On Friday, Sept 29 we successfully sent 8 150 lbs boxes filled with supplies and water. We are working on getting another round of supplies to an aunt and uncle, their kids and grandkids, in Toa Alta, PR.
Oct 6: On Wednesday October 4, Eli and I purchased another large round of items to ship to family in Toa Alta.
Oct 21: At 9pm Eli, Dad and I completed the packing for Round 2 and made our way to the airport to pack, weight, and purchase this shipment. 13 boxes (apprx 1,000 lbs) were sent to PR to our family in Toa Alta.
Oct 24: The 13 packages arrived in PR. Family is headed to the airport this week to retrieve these packages.
