Joe's Medical Fund
Donation protected
In February 2017, Joe was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver caused by a genetic disorder, Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. Although he is a strong fighter, he is in need of an immediate liver transplant as his organs are now failing. He has been hospitalized in Shands Hospital for over a week to hopefully stablize him so that he can be transferred to the Mayo clinic for the life saving transplant. He now has insurance that will cover the majority of the medical bills, however, he is unable to work. There is a long recovery period if he is able to get a transplant in time and his wife will need to miss a lot of work without pay. All money raised will go to any and all medical and other bills they will incur to help get him prepared for this transplant. Our hope is that he will live to see his daughter graduate high school (and maybe go fishing again).
