Financial hardship

Hello tribe,

As many of y'all know I left an abusive relationship a year ago and have spent the last year healing myself and babies and moving forward. Life in so many ways is incredibly better. Unfortunately, financially it is has been a struggle as a single mama. I have managed to keep us in our home and fed (with a lot of help and love from all of you). And I am incredibly grateful for this. But I, like many single parents, live pay check to pay check.

Last week I learned the Oregon department of revenue is garnishing me. They are taking $800 a month for a $1700 bill. These are for parking tickets (from I honestly don't know when). They are unwilling to negotiate it. I had discussed payment plans with them but they were to high and they also wouldn't negotiate them. This is devastating. I've spent the last week trying to figure out something and I don't know what to do. So I need help. To keep our heat and lights on. To keep our home. To keep us fed. It is very difficult to ask for help but I do not know what else to do and this is very scary. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thank you
