Tsegaye Yaie Melka's Funeral and Family Support

  Very Sad News!! Mr. Tsegaye Yaie Melka Passed Away

To All Oromo and Friends,

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness to inform you the passing away of Mr. Tsegaye Yaie Melka on February 5, 2021. Mr. Yaie has been in the hospital for the last four weeks.  We are so saddened by the loss of this true Oromo Nationalist who spent his entire life in the Oromo struggle for freedom during this challenging time.


His bio indicated that Mr. Yaie was born and grew up in Central Oromia, Finfinnee appreciating his Identity and Oromo culture. During the last 1960s, Mr. Yaie came to the USA through education opportunities. He involved and contributed to the formation of the Union of Oromo North American(UONA)  here in the USA.

At the end of 1987, he decided to end his comfortable life in the USA and returned to Oromia to join the Oromo struggle, OLF. He has been in Oromo struggle for freedom until his last departure. All who know Mr. Yaie witness that he was a dedicated and true Oromo Nationalist who sacrificed his entire life struggling and advocating for the freedom and betterment of the Oromo people. May God rest his soul in peace and provide maximum comfort for his family, relatives, and friends.

The main fund raiser is Halima Sied. Halima Sied is the spouse of the deceased Tsegaye Yaie Melaka. The funds will be used for funeral home, funerals and memorial service. Remainings will be used for family support. Thank you so much!
